MTOL is an open platform for participants to vocalize their thoughts, concerns, fears, and stresses in their community and their life to those with an attentive ear. The MTOL’s take place wherever the children are, in the community center, the schools, or even local hang outs. During the MTOL there is a segment called “Hugs for Healing” where participants go around the room giving and receiving hugs. Everyone who participates in the MTOL’s walks away forever changed.
Rhymes 4 Reasons is a music education program held in association with the Newark Housing Authority in which participants learn all aspects of the music industry. Participants are taught the technical facets of producing, writing, and recording music from professionals in the industry in a state of the art music studio located in The Club House in Newark, NJ. There are guest lectures held regularly by business and law professionals well known to the music industry to cover essential themes of the music business. At the end of each program the graduating participants release a CD of their work.
F.I.S.T is designed to strengthen the family in its entirety. Areas of focus include: Financial literacy and Education, a Grooming / Self-Confidence and Job Readiness workshops. Each workshop has a discussion / review period then a short lecture from a qualified professional in each division then a question and answer period. Sessions are offered primarily to parents and grandparents of youth with profitable incentives and rewards designed for each division provided at the end of each workshop. Incentives include: Stipends for Initial Checking Account Start-Ups, Bookstore Certificates, Spa Treatments / Hair Grooming, Resume Assistance, Job Referrals and Business Suits.
(FP TAPS) Program is designed to teach youth the basics of theatre from writing plays, to performing them on a public stage. Participants will learn the intricacies and styles of acting, public speaking, stage presence, choreography as well as make-up, lighting, and set-design. Although the primary focus will be on Off-Broadway Stage performance, participants will also learn the skills needed to work in movie production. Grand Performances will be given throughout the year, often written and produced by the participants. FP TAPS students will graduate the program with the education and skills necessary to further pursue a degree in the Performing Arts.
FP CARES program is designed to cultivate the minds of young people in areas of culinary arts and restaurant management. Students will learn the basics of cooking i.e. grilling, frying, steaming, boiling, baking, and broiling a variety of foods. From preparation of meals to how to “set” a table, students will learn the intricacies of hosting dinners from casual to extravagant. While the focus will be on food preparation and training during the week, FP CARES students will also learn how to manage inventory and properly prepare a variety of menu styles serving the featured dishes on the weekend to those in need. FP CARES students will graduate with the education and skills necessary to begin a career in the Restaurant and Hospitality Industry. Proper nutrition education and Job placement will also be explored.
We Heard Your Cry Academy (WHY Cry Academy) – will be the utopia of the FP YOUTHOUTCRY FOUNDATION, Inc. and will house all of the FP Programs. This future building will enclose multiple use classrooms for the various FP Programs, a state-of-the-art Restaurant kitchen, a state-of-the-art recording Studio, state-of-the-art Performance Stage and auditoriums for both the TAPS program and the MTOLs. There will also be a level for the FP YOUTHOUTCRY FOUNDATION’s administrative staff and officers. There will also be space set aside for any programs developed through the FIST program.
